Celebrating Air, Land and Sea

JANUARY 9, 10 & 11, 2026

Dive Deeper Into Deco

Step inside the story with Wolfsonian–FIU lectures tracing the style from the 1925 Paris Exposition to today’s Miami Beach skyline.

Each January, Wolfsonian-FIU partners with the Miami Design Preservation League for a day of insightful talks during Miami Beach’s eagerly awaited Art Deco Weekend. We’re taking off with this year’s theme, Land, Air & Sea, exploring how Art Deco shaped everything from ocean liners and airplanes to sleek cars and modern interiors. After the talks, stop by the library open house for a display featuring Koizumi Kishio’s prints of Tokyo in the 1930s, curated by FIU art history professor Lidu Yi’s students.
